The Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI) is a global coalition working to drive down the cost of internet access in low- and middle-income countries through policy and regulatory reform.
I was brought on board to develop a project identity based on their concept of Meaningful Connectivity which looks at the imbalance of internet access across the globe, and how that can be rectified with regular access, a suitable device, enough data and a fast connection.
They wanted the project to focus on the people that were missing out on this connectivity. By using the brand colours of the A4AI logo, I developed a family of characters whose lives were being "illuminated" by the internet, giving the project a diverse modularity that would give the team a great platform to play with the layout.
